Hermano. a Tito Puente lo conocí en los años 82 aqui en new york, para mi uno de los timbaleros. grandes en la historia, siempre dijo que a lo que le llaman salsa ,es SON ,ya te explique que la salsa no es un termino musical. se llama SON. el guaguancó es tan cubano como ud y yo. Este genero musical hermano del yambu, .con elementos de africa, tambien de españa .yo vengo de la cuna de la rumba, si ud es musico como yo .le invito a un rumbón matancero.saludos chucho

se me olvido decirte que a ese conjunto de instrumentos se le llamo "conjunto" y después que se le pusieron las Pailas (timbales) se reconocio como "orquesta"

la salsa nace del son tienen que ver pero no son lo mismo...((((ahh Tito puente odiaba la palabra salsa,,no le gustaba llamarle salsa al son,,pacheco si le llamaba salsa,otra cosa el guaguanco viene de los africanos esclavos que llegaron a cuba no es de cuba,,la clave y la percusion es africana no cubana)))) SLUDOS

la salsa y el son es lo mismo dependiendo del punto de vista que lo veas chucho,,la salsa que hoy se toca se deriva del son por eso tienen las mismas características y lo mismo se le llama salsa que son,PERO como ya te dije el formato del son originalmente es "guitarra,tres,trompeta,bongoes,maracas y claves'' (después se le Añadio el bajo y se le llamo sexteto) al sexteto se le intercambio la guitarra y el tres por el piano,se le añadieron,,mas trompetas,trombones,saxos,tumbadoras etc..

Hermano en los años 70"s, Tito puentes ,Mazuzy,y Pacheco le llamaros al SON salsa como termino comercial tal es asi que hoy por hoy muchos le llaman a nuestro son salsa.y esta como tal no es un termino musical sigue siendo SON,saludo mi hermano chucho el de cardenas

yo nunca dije que el son no era de cuba por supuesto que es de cuba,lo que dije fue que arsenio cojio el son y le puso percusión africana y mas trompetas con trombón le metió el piano porque el son no lleba piano y solo se toca con una trompeta, mucho cuidado que el son y la salsa no es lo mismo! un saludo de mi parte chucho yo soy de villa clara!

Hermano si La musica Cubana tiene elementos del Bantu y de Arara es decir africanas y españolas pero el SON es tan Cubano como el guaguanco,El señor Arsenio Rodriguez que nacio matanzas como yo,evoluciono el Montuno .lo que llaman Salsa no es mas que el puro Son.un saludo cordial chucho el de cardenas

mira chucho es musica cubana pero la musca cubana viene de la musica africana y si quieres saber mas busca y lee sobre "arsenio rodriguez" el ciego maravilloso el invento el son montuno,ligo el son de cuba con la percusion africana y de ahi salio lo que llamamos salsa!!

zczc Donot worry brother. Everybody knows that this music comes from Cuba. What is really amazing is that groups like Africando, Kekele etc. are rendering a tribute to the Cuban music singing its songs in their own African idioms like Senegalese, Swahili, Wolof etc. A big hug to all the music lovers of Africando.
